Insignia

The Insignia of this most rugged confraternity is one that must be considered very diligently by the blind mob as well as the knowing Airlord! Based on available historical data from the archives of the ever evolving Supreme Eiye Confraternity, we have dug up some details with the authorization and validation of the "Aro meta" under the Araba Tree!! As is the nature of the S.E.C, we remain a "private society" and as such will give as much information as is permitted with taciturnity as our guiding virtue.

1965

The EIYE GROUP was founded by patriotic and visionary students, and led by the rugged 3 (Aro Meta) with a commitment to excellence, desire to make positive impact on the socio-political psyche of the student populace and Nation at large.

1969

In 1969 when the "Aro meta" gathered under the Araba Tree, The Eiye Group metamorphosed into the Eiye Confraternity. The proposal was mentioned about developing a standard for the Supreme Eiye Confraternity which would be used during our ceremonial processions!! A lot of intellectual issues were discussed and meanings were given to represent what would most represent our eternal lore and aspirations. It was agreed on the 15th of June 1969 that the eternal standard of the S.E.C would include an "Eiye Akalamagbo" a mystical and mythical bird which was already a fraternal representation of our ideals. The "Akalamagbo" is better known in English as a "Phoenix". This was to be commissioned carrying a skull in its deadly talons. The claw was to be within the eye-sockets of the skull. What does this mean?

Akalamagbo

The Phoenix according to the intellectually gifted "Aro Meta" was a representation that the Supreme Eiye Confraternity would live forever and that every time it appeared like it was going to meet its demise it would rise out of the ashes of its own flames with a rejuvenated life as with the mythical Phoenix. This was also representative of the fact that the SEC was to be an evolving confraternity that would move with time and redefine its scope and boundaries. At this point the Supreme Eiye Confraternity had just the "Aro meta" as founding members. This was where the foundational strength of the confraternity was laid!!

The human skull is representative of the mortality of man. This meant that the members of the Supreme Eiye confraternity were encouraged to confront the fact that one day they would go back to their creator and that we had a duty to live behind a legacy that would be noteworthy of recognition to the world at large. This foundational tenet is still present in the "Creed and aspirations of the SEC". The claw that was strategically placed in the eye socket of the skull meant that death {when the light leaves the human eye} could not end the life of the Airlords as members would live forever by virtue of their legacy on earth.

The ultimate meaning of the combined Bird and Skull standard will be for the initiates to know and you the contemplator to ponder!!

Diversity

There have been various re-productions of this standard in various abodes of the Supreme Eiye Confraternity to represent the diversity within SEC; however they all have a singular significance "Eiye lives forever even in the face of death".. Ata

Double Headed Phoenix

The most recent standard of the SEC is the double headed Phoenix with a sword of truth and freedom in its talons {below}.

This doesn't warrant any explanations in this forum!!

2005

After 6 years of initiation suspension within citadels of learning, the National Association of Airlords lifted this ban, as it was deemed to be a false approach in curbing violence in schools. It was noted that in order to stop the much talked about violence, all existing fraternities need an official modus operandi, and a channel for gentlemen discussions. Hence the openess of the SEC.

Rambo Day

In 2009, Following official deliberations within the Aro Meta and the world body, a day was appointed to be marked each year as the Eleiye Remembrance Day. This day is intended to be marked to remember all brothers with a solemn Eleiye celebration world wide. The first of the Remembrance Day (aka RAMBO DAY) was marked successfully.

40 Years

The National Association of Airlords hit the landmark age of 40, and marked this anniversary with various activities worldwide, which included church and mosque activities in Nigeria, celebrations in Manchester, London, Chicago, New Delhi to name a few.
